As 2022 comes to a close and another new year is upon us, we wanted to share a few of our favorite projects from this year as well as give you a sneak peek at some of the new builds and renovations we have coming up for 2023!
Charming Lake Cottage
We kicked 2022 off by finishing up the Charming Lake Cottage at CottageClub, Ghost Lake. This two-story custom home was built on the shores of Ghost Lake and features soaring ceilings, luxury vinyl plank floors, and stylish finishes throughout. Its classic finishes and neutral colors paired with pops of color, give it a fun, yet timeless look. The homeowner wanted to create a retirement home for her to enjoy with her friends and family for many years to come. Mission accomplished!
Bow Ridge Residence
In the Spring, we had the opportunity to work on two custom renovations, one of which was the Bow Ridge Residence in Cochrane, Alberta.
The homeowner of this 1990s bungalow wanted to modernize her space and make it more functional for large family gatherings. To do so, we removed a wall that had previously separated the kitchen from the dining area, creating an open-concept main living space. We then created a new kitchen layout, including a 12-foot island, perfect for hosting. The addition of a matching coffee bar in the living room helped also to expand the space, making it even more suitable for entertaining.
The renovation also included a reworking of the fireplace, the installation of new flooring, and a fresh coat of paint throughout. We added floor-to-ceiling stone on the fireplace surround as well as a timber mantle to visually balance the space and create more of a focal point in the living room. We also removed the tile flooring that was previously installed throughout the home and replaced it with durable, low-maintenance luxury vinyl plank flooring. Last, but certainly not least, we added a fresh coat of paint on all the walls, doors, and trim, brightening up the space and giving it a new take on life.
Modern Coastal Cottage
We then finished up the Modern Coastal Cottage. Located on one of CottageClub’s premier lakefront properties, this custom home blends the minimalism and clean lines of modern design with the beach-inspired color palette and laid-back feeling of coastal design. The unique split-level plan offers three large bedrooms on the upper floors and a spacious living area in the home’s walk-out basement.
Downstairs, the space opens to a living and dining area, featuring a free-standing natural gas fireplace and magnificent views of Ghost Lake. Around the corner, you will find the magazine-worthy kitchen featuring black custom cabinetry, butcher block countertops, dual-tone floating shelves, stainless steel appliances, and touch-latch cabinets and drawers. The kitchen’s textured tile backsplash finishes the kitchen by adding even more visual interest to the space and a relaxed vibe to its modern style.
Moving upstairs, you will find 2 excellent-sized bedrooms, a shared 3-piece bathroom for the kids, and the master suite, which showcases spectacular views of the lake and mountains.
Camden Residence
The final project we finished this year was the Camden Residence, a custom-acreage home located in Rocky View County.
Nestled on a two-acre parcel in the foothills just north of Cochrane, Alberta, this custom home’s modern farmhouse style is perfectly suited for country living. The home’s structural timbers, black metal-clad windows, and dark stone and siding work harmoniously to create a sophisticated exterior design that is sure to impress.
The main floor of this bungalow was designed to encompass all the core elements of the home. One of the main features of this home is its impressive kitchen, which features a gorgeous 8-foot island, dramatic quartz countertops, a herringbone tile backsplash, and a fabulous silgranit apron sink.
Rideau Residence
As we start off the new year, one of the projects we are the most excited about is the Rideau Residence, located in Calgary, Alberta. This custom modern home is currently under construction and was designed by the one and only Dean Thomas Design Group together with Martine Ast Interiors. The scheduled completion for this home is in February 2023.
CottageClub
There are also several more cottages currently under construction at CottageClub, Ghost Lake. Each of these beautiful homes is entirely unique and was custom designed for our amazing clients. See some renders below.
Ogden Residence
Last, but certainly not least, we are gearing up for a few more major renovations, including a full overhaul of the Ogden Residence. We will start this renovation in early February and will entail a complete reworking of the interior and exterior of the home.
